Success Story: Advancing Gender
Equity and Environmental Sustainability
PRISEP
successfully participated in a regional workshop focused on the
interrelationship between Gender Equity and Environment/Climate Change. This
workshop was held at the Wanyama Hotel in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and was
organized by Horizont3000).
The
workshop provided PRISEP members with invaluable opportunities to learn from
like-minded organizations and to network with partners from neighboring
countries, including Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Sudan, and Botswana. These
interactions enabled PRISEP to exchange knowledge, share best practices, and
forge strategic partnerships that will strengthen their efforts in promoting
gender equality and human rights within the private security industry.
Through
this workshop, PRISEP has gained deeper insights into how gender equity
intersects with environmental and climate challenges, and is better equipped to
advocate for and implement sustainable solutions that benefit all members of
the private security sector, particularly women.
