PRISEP is a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting gender equality and upholding human rights within the Private Security Industry in Tanzania. Registered under the registration number 00NGO/R/4577, PRISEP collaborates closely with government agencies, civil society organizations, private security companies, and industry associations across Tanzania.
Our mission is guided by national and international laws, conventions, and policies, ensuring our initiatives align with global standards. We also conduct extensive studies in partnership with national and international stakeholders to address gender and human rights issues within the private security industry.
PRISEP aims to foster a private security industry that respects and upholds the rights of all individuals, regardless of gender. We are committed to promoting a culture of professionalism, accountability, and ethical conduct throughout the industry.
We facilitate dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders, including private security companies, government agencies, civil society organizations, and communities, to address challenges and promote positive change
We provide training and capacity-building programs to private security companies and their personnel on gender-sensitive approaches, human rights principles, and best practices in ethical conduct and professionalism.
PRISEP advocates for policies and regulations that promote gender equality and human rights within the private security sector. We engage with government agencies, policymakers, and industry stakeholders to raise awareness and influence policy decisions.
PRISEP conducts research and collects data to assess gender dynamics, identify human rights issues, and develop evidence-based recommendations for improving practices within the private security industry.
PRISEP successfully participated in a regional workshop focused on the interrelationship between Gender Equity and Environment/Climate Change. This workshop was held at the Wanyama Hotel in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and was organized by Horizont3000).
